GCSE English Language (Year 10 and Year 11)

Accelerated Learning Programme: Language Paper 1 and Paper 2.

This accelerated learning programme is taught during the half term breaks to consolidate previous learning and to prepare students for the new half term.  They are designed to ensure that students become familiar with and can apply the Assessment Objectives to exam questions, both during class assessments and in their end of year exams. 

Each module is designed to develop the knowledge and skills required to achieve the top levels in English Language. 

Autumn Half Term Classes 

English Language Paper 1

Module 1  -Identify, analyse and Explain  the use and effect of Linguistic Devices in Fictional Texts . Understand and apply the exam answering technique (AO2).

29th October 2024

Module 2 – Identify, Analyse and Explain writers’ use of Language for effect in extracts. Understand and apply the exam answering technique. (AO2)

30th October 2024

Module 3 - Identify and understand the use of Structural devices  in Texts ( AO2)



31st October 2024

Module 4 - Analyse and Explain writers’ use and effect of Structure to create interest and engage the reader in extracts. Understand and apply the exam answering technique. (AO2)

1st November 2024

Module 5  -The Critical Evaluation of a Text . Evaluate texts critically to provide a personal, developed response to a focus statement.  Understand and apply the exam answering technique (AO4).

GCSE November Resit Exam Revision

GCSE November Resit Exam Revision (28th October 2024 – 1st November 2024) 

Time: 19h00 – 20h30

These classes are intensively focussed on the key exam answering techniques  for the November resit exams. The objective of these classes is for students to achieve a much higher mark and grade for the Language exams , Exam papers and exam revision resources will be emailed once enrolment is confirmed.
