Accelerated Learning Programme

During these classes, we consolidate previous learning and prepare students for exams. The lessons are designed to ensure that students become familiar with and can apply the Assessment Objectives to exam questions, both during class assessments and in their end of year exams.


Each zoom lesson is designed to develop the knowledge and skills required to achieve the top levels in English Language.

Year 11 : Spring Term 2

Unseen Poetry and Writing

Assessment Objectives:

  • Unseen Poetry
  • Identifying and analysing the poetic devices, Form and Structure – Unseen Poetry
  • Comparing the two Unseen poems
  • Transactional Writing (Writing to Argue, Persuade, Explain and Advise) 
  • Writing for purpose with appropriate tone, form, and register for audiences.
  • Using structural and grammatical features in writing.
  • Use a range of vocabulary, sentence structures and linguistic devices in writing.
  • Practice on Timing of Exam Questions

(Revision for ALL FOUR English exams and includes night before the exam revision)
